The Changing Face of Health Care
May 8th | Fellowship Hall | 5:45 Pm | Free Dinner
Do you need help understanding the basic ins and outs of Medicare, Medicaid and Veteran’s benefits? Millions of financially vulnerable seniors and adults with disabilities qualify for—but are not yet enrolled in—benefits that could help them pay for medical or nutritional needs. If your loved one needs to make dietary changes to increase their health and well-being, there are specific things that you, the caregiver, can do to help with the change
Come hear from trained professionals that can assist older adults, persons with disabilities and their caregivers to understand and compare Medicare and other health insurance benefits. The FB Richardson Senior Adult Ministry is sponsoring a seminar regarding dietary and health care needs for today’s seniors. The first portion will cover healthy dietary habits, free recipes, healthy snacks and desserts led by the dietary staff from Atria of Richardson. Participants will also be able to take home a complimentary bag of nutritious snacks to sample.
The seminar will continue with additional topics including Medicare, Medicare Supplements, long-term health care and Veterans Benefits available to our Veterans and their widows. The insurance portion will be led by Jennifer Chumbly with the Westbrook Agency and the Veterans portion will be led John R. Vermillion, an estate planning and probate attorney. Adult children of our seniors are encouraged to attend with their parents.
Seminar and meal are free with advanced registration. Deadline to register is Tuesday, May 1. Call Beth Grafton, 972-235-5296 x119, to register.
