NETWORK's Non Profit Experience Day is an annual event for NETWORK, open to all volunteers, board members and staff.  This year, NETWORK toured the North Texas Food Bank, Irving Cares and Metrocrest Social Services. This educational opportunity is a chance to learn about partner nonprofit agencies and nonprofits with similar programs.  The day began with a visit to the North Texas Food Bank, a partner agency who provides NETWORK with food.  After lunch at Hattie’s the tour continued with two agencies that offer similar support in other communities; Irving Cares provides for Irving and Metrocrest Social Services provides for Carrolton, Addison, Coppell and Farmer’s Branch. Our participants asked many pertinent questions and learned about practices within these organizations and how they vary from NETWORK. Having these comparisons enlightens the attendees to consider new, better, different ways NETWORK could run more effectively and reach more people in need.

Volunteers are a major part of Network.  Without them, NETWORK would not be able to support the Richardson community.  There are many volunteer opportunities available.  To learn more about NETWORK and volunteering, please visit www.thenetwork.org.
