s\, will be presented in the upcoming Seasoned Conversation Truth Series a
s 60-90 minute monthly educational seminars beginning on January 13\, 2022
 \, 10:00 am\, at the Network of Community Ministries\, 1500 International
  Pkwy\, Unit 300\, Richardson\, TX 75081. We invite adults 55+\, caregiver
s\, and their families to attend the free "Seasoned Conversations • Truth
Series" to learn about issues related to homeownership and post-retiremen
t downsizing in the DFW area as they navigate change. \n This series of ca
ndid conversations and expert panel discussions about the unique and often
complex issues facing long-time homeowners is to be moderated by Angela M
cCants\, considered the leading authority on issues related to downsizing\
, late-life relocation\, and (55+) living solutions. As the founder of Dal
las Supreme Relocations and Broker Associate with Dave Perry-Miller Real E
state\, Angela McCants and her business partner\, Steven Oliphant\, have m
ade it their mission to educate and guide consumers and their families on
best practices related to post-retirement living. \n "Seniors and familie
s realize that the market is good right now in Dallas\, Richardson\, Plano
\, and surrounding areas and are preparing to sell current homes and move
into something more manageable\," said McCants. "Many seniors have no ide
a what is available to them\, how much it will cost or the process for mak
ing all the pieces fit together. We want to give them trustworthy informat
ion\, introduce them to trusted local resources\, and answer their questio
ns. Beyond helping with immediate needs\, we intend to give individuals an
d families direction and confidence\, so they feel empowered when they dec
ide it is time to make a change." \n " The Truth About Trusts\, Wills\, an
d Guardianships" on February 10\, "The Truth About Downsizing\, Right-sizi
ng\, and Simplifying" on March 10\, 2022. Seasoned Conversations will intr
oduce more topics as the series gets underway. \n "People don't want to be
'sold' something only to find out later that there were either strings at
tached or they didn't get all the facts. There are myths and rumors that d
ate way back\, and people deserve to know today's truth before they make a
significant life-changing decision. They don't want a sales pitch. They w
ant truthful information from people they can trust in order to consider t
heir options. That's exactly what we're sharing in this series of educatio
nal expert seminars\," McCants asserts. \n There is no cost  to attend for
those age 55+\, their families\, and caregivers. Registration for profess
ionals is $25. Reservations can be made by emailing admin@cid5280.com or b
y calling 303.332.7515. Space is limited\, and pre-registration is require
 d. \n More about the host and moderator: Angela McCants\, a 19-plus year v
eteran Realtor with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate\, holds a B.S. in Public
Administration\, and an M.S. in Training & Development. She has also earn

SUMMARY:Musical Tribute for 9/11
DESCRIPTION:The Allen Community Band honors the 25 th anniversary of the 9-
11 attack on our nation with a musical tribute with a free concert at 7:30
  p.m. Friday\, September 11\, at the Allen Public Library\, 300 N. Allen D
 r. The program will offer a combination of patriotic selections and pieces
written specifically for the September 11 remembrance.  In addition\, the
award-winning San Antonio Express journalist William Luther\, who was in
New York City to cover the tragedy\, will share his recollections.   \nSo
me of the notable musical selections for this day include a version of Tap
s arranged by band member Derek Molacek and performed by trumpet soloist K
evin Purcell\, the official Department of Defense version of The Star-Span
gled Banner performed by all U.S. military bands\, and songs composed as t
ributes to victims of September 11 th . \nThe latter tunes include A Hymn
for the Lost and the Living by Eric Ewazen and Voices Echo \, a two-piece
movement by Benjamin Boone. The former\, featuring trumpet soloist Stepha
nie Waterman\, is a highly expressive work for wind ensembles that opens w
ith a moving trumpet solo and builds into a profound memorial. The latter
is a two-movement piece that begins with the aggressive and asymmetrical
“Attack\,” followed by “Aftermath” that provides a somber\, reflective sp
 ace.
\nAnother highlight of the band’s performance will be Carmen Dragon’
s highly emotional arrangement of America the Beautiful . One of the most
dramatic versions of this patriotic standard ever written\, it opens with
the full ensemble followed by an extended section featuring the woodwinds
\, with brass and percussion added to build to an exciting and dynamic end
ing. \nCall 214-509-4911 for additional information.\nAllen Public Library
