Enjoy Japanese music and dance, haiku, art and cultural activities, and much more!


On September 14th, the Japan-America Society of DFW will host our annual Otsukimi Moon Viewing Festival at Frisco Square, and we are excited to bring this event to the community of Frisco!


Have a fun-filled evening with a picnic under the stars and the full autumn moon. Enjoy a variety of Japanese music and dance performances. Learn about the legend of the "Moon Rabbit" as the guardian of the moon. Participate in traditional Japanese art forms including calligraphy, the tea ceremony, ikebana, and haiku poetry.


What is Otsukimi?


The Japanese Otsukimi Festival, literally meaning “moon-viewing,” and it celebrates the Harvest Moon that typically falls on the fifth (5th) day of the eighth (8th) month of the traditional Japanese calendar. So join us on Saturday, September 14th from 6:00-9:30pm at Frisco Square! We hope to see you there!
