In 2007, the RCPAAA created the Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding event as a vehicle for the citizens of the area to rid themselves of the old electronic devices and to help prevent identity theft by safely shredding old documents and records. This event is held in the Spring and Fall, with the Spring event being held in conjunction with the City of Richardson’s Trash Bash and the Fall event operating as a standalone event. The recycling and shredding services are free to private citizens but contributions are encouraged. A small fee is charged to businesses who would like to shred large boxes of documents.
All electronic items will be accepted with the exception of "tube" type TVs and computer monitors. To help protect yourself from identity theft, please remove hard drives from any computer you bring to the event.
This event is being held in the parking lot east of the Sears store at the Richardson Square Mall. You will be directed to the event area from the Belt Line entrance.
If it is raining that morning, the event will be cancelled.
