The J.J. Pearce Varsity  tennis team made strides after their 4^th place finish in the District 9-6A tournament.  Their hard work and  determination helped them to finish 2^nd in the U.I.L. State Area Tournament behind a very strong Coppell High School team.  In the area tournament, the Mustangs beat Sachse High School,  10-9,  and also beat Richardson High School, 10-9.   Both were very tough and exciting matches.  The Mustangs' 2^nd place finish secured a spot in the State Regional Tournament in Mansfield. J.J.  Pearce put up a good fight, but lost to the #2 seed, Westwood High School,  from Round Rock. The team had lots of fun and really has what it takes to do well in the future.
