The City of Richardson continues to spray insecticide across the city in hopes to containing the spread of mosquitoes and the West Nile Virus. There will be two sprayings in the area this week - one on Monday, August 6 and one on Tuesday, August 7.

The August 6 spraying will be within the boundaries of East Arapaho to the north, Buckingham Road to the south, Bowser Road to the west and Jupiter Road to the east. The August 7 spraying will be within the boundaries of West Renner Road to the north, West Campbell Road to the south, North Floyd Road to the west and North Central Expressway (US 75) to the east.

The sprayings will go on from 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. in order to limit exposure to residents in the area. In order to minimize human exposure, the Health Department will not spray if wind speeds are in excess of 10 miles per hour. The trucks will utilize an ultra-low volume fogger that is effective at impacting mosquito populations while being sensitive to the environment.
