Parents will always believe that their child is the best at everything. Well, now those kids will have a chance to prove it. The City of Richardson is hosting the first annual Richardson YMCA Kids Triathlon on Sunday, August 5 and registration for the event is now open.

The event is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event for kids ages 7-14 and will be divided into two age groups: 7-10 and 11-14. It will take place at the Richardson YMCA at 821 Custer Road and will begin at 7:30 a.m.

There will be two distance options for the race:

• 100 meter swim; 2.5 mile bike; .75 mile run
• 200 meter swim; 5 mile bike; 1.5 mile run

Every child that finishes the course will receive a medal. To learn more or to register for the event, check out the City of Richardson website.
