In their continuing attempt to combat the mosquito population and West Nile Virus infections, the City of Richardson will be doing several rounds of mosquito spraying in the next few days. The first spraying will occur on Thursday, August 2 while the second will happen on Monday, August 6.
The August 2 spraying will be within the boundaries of West Arapaho Road to the north, West Spring Valley Road to the south, Coit Road to the west and Central Expressway (US 75) to the east. The second spraying, on August 6, will be bounded by East Arapaho Road to the north, Buckingham Road to the south, Bowser Road to the west and Jupiter Road to the east.
The spraying on both days will begin at 10:00 p.m. and will go until 3:00 a.m. The spraying will be delayed if winds are in excess of 10 miles per hour. Residents in spray zone are advised to stay indoors during the spraying hours and bring pets indoors as well. If a person does come in contact with the spray, wash the affected area with soap and water.
