In a twist straight from Paddington, Rainbow, a 3-month-old terrier mix, was found this morning in Richardson wearing a shirt with the plea “Please Help Me” written on it, with a note pinned to the shirt identifying her as Rainbow. She was sitting in the middle of a busy suburban street.

A volunteer with Take Me Home Pet Rescue picked up the malnourished puppy, and is looking for a foster so the rescue group can take her into their program. Fosters, who keep dogs at their own home until they are adopted, are the lifeblood of every rescue group, giving the animals that are looking for a forever home a place to stay until their perfect match comes along. The rescue group pays for food and vet visits, markets the pets at adoption events, and spays or neuters the animals to get them ready for adoption.

If you’d like to foster little Rainbow, contact Take Me Home Pet Rescue at (972) 238-7988, email info@takemehomepetrescue.com or go to their website (takemehomepetrescue.com) to download a foster application. Like all rescues and shelters, they are bursting at the seams right now and really need new fosters to save more pets, like abandoned Rainbow.
