Semi-annual show is in its 24th year
The wonderful tradition of shopping, admiring and collecting favorite vintage items at the Antique Elegance Show continues this February. Shoppers will fill their heart’s desire as the Antique Elegance show continues its 24 year run by presenting quality vintage and wonderful antiques from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21 at the Richardson Civic Center in Richardson. Admission is $6 per person and good both days.
As in the past, there will be many favorite antique dealers returning, but there will be many new dealers offering everything from antique jewelry and vintage clothing to fine furniture. Many unique and fine quality vintage items will be displayed for sale at the Antique Elegance Show. Twice a year vintage enthusiasts from all over the world get together to celebrate style and antiques at this exceptional show. The dealers offer a wide variety of high quality antiques including: vintage textiles, clothing and accessories, hats, purses, estate jewelry, furniture, glassware, art pottery, fine silver, toys, dolls, photographs, sheet music, post cards, buttons, handmade lace, advertising, books, quilts, tablecloths and fine linens, European art and antiques, and more.
Special events have been planned for the two day show.
Lovely and talented models bring refined elegance from the world of vintage fashion in the “Vintage Fashion show” presented on Saturday at 12 p.m.
Mike Grimes with the Vintage Radio and Phonograph Society will talk about the history and evolution of radios and phonographs in a one hour program “The History of Radios” on Saturday at 2 p.m. He will share his experience about how to collect, restore and appreciate radios and phonographs.
For all toy bear collectors, there will be a “Stearnsy Bears Homecoming” on Sunday at 2 p.m. Collectors are encouraged to bring their bears or bunnies to have signed by Charles Stearns with photos taken to document them for the Stearnsy Bear Archives. An extensive display of the bears will be set up for viewing pleasure.
Also on Sunday, The Matt Tolentino Band will bring hot jazz music to the Antique Elegance show from noon to 2 p.m.
