DART Changes Schedule for Labor Day

A three-day weekend is always a good time to take the family on a small adventure in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and one of the best ways to get around without worrying about traffic is by using the DART. However, anyone traveling by DART on Labor Day will need to pay attention to some minor changes.

The first and most important change is that the DART light rail and buses will be running on a Sunday schedule instead of a Monday schedule. Additionally, the Trinity Railway Express commuter rail won't be in operation at all on Labor Day.

Customers with disabilities that use the DART Paratransit services will also need to plan ahead. The Paratransit services will be operating on a Saturday schedule, and the Paratransit Scheduling Center will be closed on Labor Day. Customers will need to call on Thursday, August 30 to book their trips through Monday, September 3 and on Friday, August 31 to book trips through Wednesday, September 5.

Multiple HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes will also be closed on Labor Day:

  • HOV lane on I-30 (East R.L. Thornton)
  • HOV lane on I-30 West (Tom Landry Freeway)
  • Reversible S-ram at the southern end of the I-35E (Stemmons) HOV lane
  • Reversible ramp between the US 75 and the I-635 HOV lanes
  • Section of the I-35E/U.S. 67 (South R.L. Thornton/Marvin D. Love) HOV lanes from downtown Dallas to Loop 12

The remaining portion of the Stemmons HOV lanes, the HOV lanes on I-635, the HOV lanes on U.S. 75 and the HOV lanes on I-35E/U.S. 67 from Loop 12 to Camp Wisdom Road will be open all day.
