With summer beginning to draw to an end, the residents of Richardson turn their attention to the bright lights and school pride of high school football. All three Richardson high schools are set to begin their 2012-2013 football seasons this week.

Richardson High School

After just narrowly missing the playoffs last year, the Richardson High School football team is ready to take the field and wipe away last season's bitter memories. The Eagles will play Irving MacArthur High School at Richardson's Eagle-Mustang Stadium and most eyes will be on dynamic, dual-threat quarterback Parker Smith as tries to lead his team to victory.

Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

Richardson Berkner High School

With deadly, dual-threat quarterback Yedidiah Louis back under center, the Richardson Berkner High School football team is always a threat to make every game a shoot out. Last year, the Rams scored more than 25 points in seven games and twice scored more than 40 points. Berkner will take on South Garland High School at Wildcat-Ram Stadium.

Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

Richardson Pearce High School

The Richardson Pearce High School football team missed the playoffs last year, so the team will be looking to get the 2012 season off on the right foot with a victory against Lake Dallas High School on Thursday, August 30. Quarterback Rhett Svetgoff and running back Kedron Banks will look to lead the Mustangs on the field on offense.

Kick-off is at 7:30
