People that commute through school zones on their way to work should take note that those school zones will go back into effect on Monday, August 27 with the start of the 2012-2013 school year. Roughly 37,500 students will walk through the doors of 55 Richardson schools and chat with old friends, welcome new people and learn new things.

For all elementary schools, the first class of the day begins at 8:00 a.m. For junior high students, classes begin at 8;30 a.m. and for the senior high students that don't have zero hour, classes will start at 9:00 a.m.

All students will need to have their immunizations and shots up to date. To learn more about immunizations, check out the RISD website.
