The Richardson Arts Alliance honored three recipients at the annual "Heart for the Arts" Gala on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center. Award recipients Kitty Goddard, Melanie Moore and Bill Fox were honored for their contributions and commitment to the arts in Richardson.
“I am so thrilled that we have three wonderful recipients representing the arts community here in Richardson. They exemplify what it means to ‘give tirelessly,’ and each one has promoted, supported and advocated for the cultural arts in Richardson,” said David Nethery, President of the Richardson Arts Alliance.
Kitty Goddard was recognized as the “Patron of the Arts,” which is given to outstanding community leaders who have devoted time and resources to further the arts in the greater Richardson area. “Kitty serves as President of the Arts Incubator of Richardson and is a past chair of the City of Richardson Arts Commission. Kitty has been a passionate advocate for artists and arts organizations throughout the community and championed collaborative efforts among all involved in the arts,” said David.
Melanie Moore, Artistic Director for the Contemporary Chorale for the past sixteen years, was recognized with the “Artist of the Year Award” for her dedication and excellence in the performing arts. “In addition to directing The Contemporary Chorale, Melanie has taught countless students voice, piano and music theory lessons for the past seventeen years and has performed with Texas Choral Artists,” said David.
Bill Fox received the "Ambassador for the Arts Award” for lifetime commitment to the arts. “Bill has advised and supported numerous arts organizations by serving as Technical & Operations Manager for the Eisemann Center since it opened in 2002. His knowledge and expertise with all types of performance arts is invaluable to our community,” said David.
The mission of the Richardson Arts Alliance is to promote and develop the cultural arts in the City of Richardson through communications, collaboration and education by the organizations interested in the arts.
