DQ RESTAURANTS IN TEXAS CELEBRATE NATIONAL ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 6

It’s summer and it’s hot in Texas, which makes a perfect combination to celebrate National Root Beer Float Day on Friday, August 6. DQ® restaurants in Texas will offer their own sweet twist on the cool classic. The root beer float features DQ vanilla soft serve literally “floating” in the frothy goodness of premium root beer.

Historians note that the root beer float, also known as a “Black Cow,” was invented in 1874 in Philadelphia by Robert McCay Green, who ran out of ice at his soda shop one day and hit on the idea of chilling beverages with ice cream.

This tasty burst of all-American tradition is available at participating DQ restaurants year round, but is a must on National Root Beer Float Day.

The full menu of delightful DQ treats and eats is available via drive thru, pick up and take out, as well as delivery and online ordering where available.
