The City of Richardson will be honored for its design and development of public roads and public spaces.
The Scenic City Certification Program "supports and recognize municipalities that implement high-quality scenic standards for public roadways and public spaces. The program recognizes Texas cities which already have strong scenic standards and will provide an incentive to others to adopt and implement the kind of stringent criteria that has been proven to enhance economic development, improve quality of life and foster a sense of place."
On Thursday, October 25 at 4 p.m., Richardson will officially receive "Gold Scenic City" certification during a presentation at Huffhines Recreation Center, located at 200 North Plano Road. The city is one of just nine Texas municipalities awarded Scenic City Certification this year. The community scored high in the detailed evaluation process and two areas specially noted were the city’s landscape ordinance and strict signage regulations.
