The City of Richardson will be conducting two more days of ground spraying next week to combat the threat of mosquitoes and West Nile Virus in the city. The spraying is being scheduled due to a confirmed human case of the virus from a resident in the affected area.

The area to be sprayed is bounded by Renner Road to the north, Lookout Drive to the south, Tam O'Shanter Lane to the west and U.S. Central Expressway (US 75) to the east. This area will be sprayed twice - once on Monday, September 17 and again on Tuesday, September 18.

The spraying will occur each night beginning at 10:00 p.m. and will go until 4:30 a.m. The city advises all residents in the spraying area to stay indoors during this time. Household pets should also be brought indoors for their safety. Any affected parts should be thoroughly washed with soap and water. The spraying will not occur if weather is not favorable.
