If you've got a medicine cabinet full of leftover prescription pills that you're just not sure how to dispose of properly, then you'll want to add this event to your errand list this weekend.

The Richardson Police Department is participating in the "National Take Back Initiative" on Saturday, September 29. Residents can gather up their unused or expired prescriptions, including all solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers, and hand them over to police in the south lot of city hall. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there is no cost to dispose of the medications.
