The Best Places to Grab a Grilled Cheese in DFW

Here in America, April 12 is an odd national holiday, but one we can all appreciate: National Grilled Cheese Day. It's time to track down some buttery bread filled with cheesy goodness in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Here are a handful of restaurants that specialize in making superb grilled cheeses. Which one are you interested in trying?

After tasting one of their perfectly melty sandwiches with a side of fries, you might be spoiled for all other grilled cheeses to come.

Lucy's Lot
451 E. Northwest Highway, Grapevine, TX 75061

Picture this: two pieces of buttered bread wrapped around a heap of cheddar, Gouda, spicy jalapenos, brisket, and sweet caramelized onions. Are you drooling yet? Then head over to Grapevine on April 12 to snag one of their amazing grilled cheeses. They also serve delicious burgers, so if you want to call a fantastic cheeseburger a grilled cheese, we won't judge you too much.

Toasted
5420 Ross Ave #180, Dallas, TX 75206

This downtown Dallas restaurant specializes in one thing, and one thing only: toast. Using all-natural ingredients and freshly-baked bread, they create some of the best grilled cheeses around. Plus, they serve amazing coffee and fun alcoholic drinks, and their industrial-style interior makes for a one-of-a-kind experience.

Cheezies
5995 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75034

On the hunt for some gourmet grilled cheese? Stop by this popular family-owned restaurant in Frisco. You can order everything from a chipotle grilled cheese to mac and cheese with brisket, so you know you'll satisfy those cheesy cravings.

Melted

1715 S Lamar St, Dallas, TX 75215

With dreamy tomato soup and sandwich combos, this yummy grilled cheese shop has received its fair share of love recently. Stop by, grab a beer, and enjoy one of their perfectly-crafted sandwiches. While you're at it, you might want to snag some of their amazing mac and cheese for a little extra deliciousness.

Lucky's Cafe

3531 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219

Although this restaurant doesn't specialize in grilled cheeses like most of the places on this list, their "Sleaziest, Cheesiest" sandwich has earned them some well-deserved recognition. Filled with Tillamook sharp and Brazos valley cheddar cheese, as well as some sliced tomatoes and bacon, this sandwich is downright incredible. Even the bread is full of cheddar! How much cheesier can you get?
