The Richardson Symphony Orchestra (RSO) announces its’ 2024-2025 season. It promises six concerts of symphonic classical masterpieces, festive and soulful pops performances, and captivating guest artists.
The 2024-2025 season will kick off on October 5th with the Opening Night concert, featuring the awe-inspiring power of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with pianist Kenny Broberg, paired with Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. The season then continues on November 2nd with guests violinist Chloé Kiffer and cellist Horacio Contreras as the symphony performs Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, along with Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Kodály’s Galánti táncok (Dances of Galánta).
And to celebrate the holidays, this year’s RSO Holiday Classics Concert features Helbing Jazz Initiative, a jazz sextet, with selections of “All I Want for Christmas is You”, “The (Funky) Little Drummer Boy” and much more. Then the RSO’s “She’s Got Soul” concert with Capathia Jenkins on February 1st, 2025 will be filled with soulful tapestry, with songs like Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and Jim Weatherly’s “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
March 1st, 2025 will be the RSO’s annual “Stars of the Future” concert, presenting the 2025 Ann & Charles Eisemann International Young Artists Competition for Piano winner, paired with a performance of Elgar’s Enigma Variations where mystery unfolds. And the season will finish with the Season Finale Concert on April 26th, 2025 with special guest violinist Geneva Lewis performing Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, and a thrilling RSO performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 49 that will take you on an emotional journey.

This will be Maestro Clay Couturiaux’s 13th season with the RSO. Clay brings energy, precision and creativity to every RSO performance. He is also the conductor of the University of North Texas Concert Orchestra and works as the Assistant Director of Orchestral Studies at UNT.
