Children ages 3 to 5 can enjoy stories in a farm setting during Story Time on the Farm at Heritage Farmstead Museum. Families are welcome to bring a snack or pack a picnic lunch to enjoy afterward.

Story Time on the Farm will be held from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. on September 17. The program is included with the purchase of general admission to the museum.

Little farmers can dress in their cowboy and cowgirl best for Rodeo on the Farm at Heritage Farmstead Museum. Children can run the barrels, rope a hay bale steer, watch a sheep roundup, meet the farm animals, listen to a story and make a rodeo craft.

Designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups, Little Farmer Friday is most appropriate for children ages 2 to 5. Activities run from 10 a.m. to noon, and the farm grounds remain open until 2 p.m. Families are welcome to bring lunch or a snack to enjoy on the farm.

Tickets start at $6.77, including fees, and infants 12 months and younger are free. Museum members at the Family level or higher receive one free adult ticket with the purchase of a childs ticket. Events often sell out, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.

Step into the world of Charlottes Web during Homeschool Day at Heritage Farmstead Museum. This Homeschool Day join your friends Wilbur, Charlotte, and Templeton as they head to the fair. See demonstrators showing off their skills or crafts, and take part in farm chores just like the Arables and Zuckermans.

Meet local demonstrators and find out what important craft or skill was needed to live on a farm.
Do chores the old fashion the old fashion way washing laundry, plowing a field, feeding the chickens, and milking Buttermilk the Cow (mechanical milking machine).
Try your hand at fair games.
Meet the farm animals: pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, turkeys, and Poncho the donkey!
Ride the wagon around the 4-acre farm

Activities run from 10 a.m. to noon, and the farm remains open until 1 p.m. Families are welcome to bring lunch and enjoy a picnic on the farm. Events often sell out, so advance ticket purchases are encouraged. Purchase tickets online.

Heritage Farmstead Museum will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Friends of the Farmstead on Saturday, October 17, from 6 to 10 p.m. The milestone event brings the community together to celebrate the stories, people and experiences that make the Farmstead special while supporting its future.

Guests can enjoy specialty cocktails and craft beers, an authentic True Texas BBQ dinner, Chicken Poop Bingo, games and prizes, and live and silent auctions. The evening will also include live music and dancing with Jay-B & the Zydeco Posse.

This years event will recognize Jennifer and Luke Shertzer as the 2026 Best Friends of the Farmstead for their dedication and generosity to Heritage Farmstead Museum.

Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, a tribute to the honorees, and the live auction at 7 p.m. Jay-B & the Zydeco Posse will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets start at $125. Reserve your seat before theyre gone.
