Dogs wait in line to get a bath.

On Sunday, while many North Texans were prepping for their Oscar-watching parties, Dallas-area pooches were getting pampered for a good cause. More than 50 dogs came to EarthWise Pet Richardson to get a $10 bath benefiting Dallas Pets Alive, a volunteer-driven, nonprofit rescue group dedicated to promoting and providing resources, education and programs to eliminate the killing of companion animals. A dozen volunteers from Dallas Pets Alive suds, scrubbed, rinsed and fluffed pups for three hours on Sunday afternoon, raising $645 for the Dallas-based charity.
