Getting a victory in week 3 of the 2012 season will be a difficult task for any of the three Richardson high school football teams, as all of them are matched up against difficult opponents. The team looking to pull off the upset will be need to be playing at the top of their game.

Richardson High School

The Richardson High School football squad has the most difficult game of the three: an away game against Allen High School, one of the top squads in the state and the nation. Allen is perfect on the season so far, including a shut-out win over defending 5A state champions Southlake Carroll. Quarterback Parker Smith and running backs Kendrick Igbinoba and Cameron Booty will need to play lights out if the team is to have a hope of an upset.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14 at Allen High School Stadium.

Richardson Berkner High School

Last week, quarterback Yedidiah Louis led the Berkner football team to its first win of the 2012 season over North Garland High School. In that game, he had 13 completed passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 87 yards and three touchdowns. He'll need to repeat his performance this week if the Rams want to upset Plano East Senior High School, which is off to a perfect start in 2012.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14 at Wildcat-Ram Stadium.

Richardson Pearce High School

To get their first win of the season, Richardson Pearce will likely have to duke it out with the high-powered Frisco Wakeland football team, which crushed Richardson High School last week, 61-24. Quarterback Rhett Svetgoff has played solidly, completing 26 out of 43 passes for 332 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Running back Kendron Banks has also done well, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown on 26 attempts. The defense will need to find a way to slow down Frisco Wakeland quarterback Jackson Lamb, who threw for 341 yards and five touchdowns last week alone.
